n. extemporaneous verse recited in the kulilísi, consisting of stanzas of four lines, at least two of which are rhymed, in a free meter. The participants in the kulilísi recite one or more stanzas and each person’s recitation is so fashioned as to be a witty response to the preceding recitation and a challenge to the recitation following. The subject is usually courtship; v. recite ditsu’s.
